Our method
How we produce a course, and how we measure a level
This page exists to be checked. It describes what we do, what we do not do yet, and exactly what the document you receive is worth.
Transparency about expert review
At launch, some courses are signed by Équipe Skillrung, our editorial team, and their review by a subject-matter expert is still under way. When that is the case, the course page says so explicitly, with the date it was last updated.
We invent no name, no title and no qualification to look credible. A course that states it was reviewed by a named person really was, and that person can be identified on the page who writes and who reviews our courses.
How a course is produced
A course starts from a question professionals actually ask, not from a search volume. The work then follows this order, and every stage has an exit condition checked automatically before publication.
- Framing. We set the promise in one sentence, the learning objectives and the job families addressed. If the promise does not fit in one sentence, the topic is badly cut.
- Sourcing. We gather the primary sources: publications from French and European authorities, official texts. Every figure that will be published is tied to its source, with its date.
- Writing. One idea per slide, one action you can apply. Scenarios, case studies and situation questions are written separately for each job family, with a mandatory generic version.
- Building the quizzes. A question bank is written to cover the three levels, with a minimum number of eligible questions per level and per section, and an explanation for every answer.
- Expert review. A named professional in the field reviews the course and dates their review. As long as no reviewer is appointed, the transparency notice above applies.
- Automated checks. Slide length, sources present, whether each quiz can actually be drawn, complete job variants, vocabulary: a course that fails a single one of these checks cannot be published.
- Periodic review. Statements with regulatory scope are re-checked and re-dated. The date of the last check is shown on the course page.
Our sourcing policy
We rely on primary sources: publications from the competent authorities and official texts. The rules we set ourselves are simple, and you can hold us to them.
- Every published figure carries its publisher, its title, its URL and its date. A figure without a source is not published: the sentence is rewritten without it.
- We quote sources rather than paraphrase them, and we link to them. Free public resources are not competitors: they are our references.
- We publish no market statistic that we have not measured ourselves or that cannot be attributed to an identifiable institution.
- We display no reviews, no ratings and no learner counts. The service has just opened; an invented usage figure would be worth nothing.

One point per question, nothing more
The score runs from 0 to 100. There is no composite score, no secret weighting, no radar chart. The level shown for a course is the highest level passed, with your best score and its date.
Marking never leaves our servers
Correct answers and explanations are never sent to your browser before you submit, not even for a free quiz. Marking is computed server-side: you receive the result, not the answer key.
What the certificate is worth
When you pass a level quiz, you receive a Skillrung certificate of completion: in your name, dated, verifiable online by a third party through a public address, and valid for 12 months. Publishing it is an explicit choice of yours, and you can withdraw it at any time.
It attests to a result obtained in an unsupervised online assessment, on a given date. It is neither a diploma, nor a title, nor a certification listed in a national register. We write this on the certificate itself, not only in our terms.
We use the word « course » in its everyday sense of a learning path, not in the sense of the French Labour Code (articles L6313-1 and following). Skillrung never presents itself as a registered training body.
What Skillrung is not
- Skillrung is not a French training body certified under the Qualiopi scheme.
- As things stand, our content is not eligible for the French CPF, OPCO, DPC or FAF funding schemes.
- A Skillrung certificate of completion is not a diploma, not a professional title and not a qualification registered in any national register. It records a result obtained in an unsupervised online assessment, on a given date.
- Taking a Skillrung course does not make your organisation compliant and does not replace the obligations that fall on your employer or on you.
- Our content is educational. It is neither legal advice, nor medical advice, nor a security audit.
- For a self-employed professional or a company, the subscription is a deductible business expense : confirm this with your accountant.
Limits
What this method does not guarantee
No method is perfect. Here are the limits of ours.
An unsupervised assessment remains self-declared
Nothing guarantees that the person answering is the person named on the certificate. We limit attempts and vary the draw, but we do not claim to replace a supervised exam.
A quiz measures knowledge, not behaviour
Spotting a fraudulent message in a quiz is not the same as spotting it on a Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a saturated inbox. That is why the daily quiz brings back questions you have already seen, at longer and longer intervals.
Personalisation stops at the job family
The written passages are written per family, not for your exact position. We prefer a variant that is right for your family over a template where we would merely swap in the name of your job.
The catalogue is still young
We publish gradually and we display only what is really online. No counter on this site announces courses that are not published.
Frequently asked questions
About production and assessment
Who writes the courses?
Skillrung's editorial team writes them from publications by French and European authorities, then a named professional in the field reviews them. The author's name and the reviewer's name, with the review date, appear on each course page.
Do you use artificial intelligence to write?
Every course declares the level of AI assistance used in its production: none, help with writing, or help with writing and review. That information is shown on the course page. In every case, editorial responsibility for the published text remains human.
Where do the figures you quote come from?
Every figure carries a primary source: publisher, title, URL and publication date. An automated check blocks publication of a course whose figure has no source. When we have no reliable source, we write the sentence without the figure.
Are the quizzes supervised?
No. The assessment is taken online, unsupervised. We write it on the certificate itself: it attests to a result obtained in an unsupervised online assessment, on a given date.
Why only two attempts a day on a level quiz?
Because a level obtained by replaying the same quiz ten times no longer measures anything. You have two attempts per rolling 24-hour period on a level quiz, and the draw avoids the questions from the previous attempt. Section quizzes, on the other hand, are unlimited.
What happens if a rule changes after publication?
The course is updated and the date of its last regulatory check is displayed. Certificates already issued remain valid for 12 months from their issue date: they attest to a result on a date, not to permanent compliance.
